DESIGN of Experiments (DoE) is a statistical technique introduced by R. A. FISHER in England in 1920’s : a systematic approach to investigation of a system or process. A series of structured tests are designed in which planned changes are made to the input variables of a process or system. The effects of these changes on a pre-defined output are then assessed. Doe is highly effective wherever and whenever it is suspected that the performance of a product or processes is controlled by more than one factor. Although DoE is most often applied using experimental hardware, it is equally effective when applied to analytical simulation. The overview of DoE technique and are intended to give a basic understanding of what Genechi Taguchi has done to make the technique more effective in applications. The quality engineering method that Taguchi proposed is commonly known as Taguchi method or Taguchi approach. His approach is a new experimental strategy in which he utilizes a modified and standardized form of DoE with special application principles where the experiments are practiced in industry today. The main focus of the training school is to impart the latest technological advances with its applications together with the software to the young researchers.
