ISO 9001:2000 Certification

M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology has been consistently successful in delivering high quality professional education. To further enhance the level of sustained quality of services rendered, MSRIT decided to develop, institute, implement and monitor Quality Management System (QMS) across the entire organization and accordingly actions were initiated in the year 1999. By 2000 MSRIT was successful in getting its QMS certified for compliance to ISO 9002:1994.With the upward revision of the international standard, MSRIT also upgraded its QMS in the year 2003 and this QMS is now certified by BVQI for compliance to the new standard ISO 9001:2000.

We also strive to communicate this policy to all persons at all levels so that this policy becomes a working reality within the organization.

Some of the major consequences of this adoption of ISO 9001:2000 Complaint Quality Management System are summarized here:

All the academic and support activities of a department are now integrated into a formal process model. Thus the course delivery, internal assessment tests, laboratory work, seminars etc., are all planned well in advance and are made available to all concerned. Regular feedback from the students is obtained and analysed to improve the entire process. Statistical methods are adopted to analyse the examination results and corrective and preventive actions are taken to improve results. Admissions, Examinations, Purchase, Library, Sports and other administrative units now operate according to well-documented procedures, ensuring high operational quality. Training programs are planned in every department to ensure that teachers and technical staff update their knowledge continuously.

The award of ISO 9001:2000 certificate has further reinforced the resolve and commitment of the entire institution to provide an environment conducive to the all-round growth of students and we are confident that M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology will continue to improve the quality of its services.
