Dr. M.S. Ramaiah a great visionary, a keen educationalist and a renowned philanthropist founded ‘Gokula Education Foundation’ in 1962 with an objective of serving the society. M.S.Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) was established under the aegis of this foundation in the same year, creating a landmark in technical education in India. MSRIT has grown over the years with significant contributions from various professionals in different capacities, ably led by Dr. M.S. Ramaiah himself, whose personal commitment has seen the institution through its formative years. M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore strives to deliver comprehensive, continually enhanced, global quality technical and management education through an established Quality Management. MSRIT offers 17 UG programs and 15 PG programs, also the VTU accorded full time PhD program from the academic year 2021-2022. University Grants Commission (UGC) & Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) have conferred Autonomous Status to MSRIT for both UG and PG Programs since 2007. All these programs are approved by AICTE. All eligible UG and PG programs are accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The institute is accredited with ‘A+’ grade by NAAC in March 2021. The institute is a participant to the Technical Education Quality Improvement Program TEQIP (Phase 1 & 2), an initiative of the Government of India. As per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), MoE, Government of India, MSRIT has achieved 67th rank among 1249 top Engineering institutions across India for the year 2022 and is 1st amongst the Engineering colleges affiliated to VTU, Karnataka. The School of Architecture, MSRIT has achieved 17th rank in NIRF - India Rankings -2022. Since the inception of the NIRF, MSRIT is within 100 Ranking consistently and has obtained “Scimago Institutions Rankings” All India Rank 107 & world ranking 600 for the year 2022. The institute has 380 competent faculty out of which 65% are doctorates. The institution offers M.S. (by research) and Ph.D. programmes in all the disciplines. MSRIT has marched towards carving itself a distinctive place in the area of imparting technical education par excellence in the country. The campus proudly boasts modern infrastructure, high-tech laboratories and classrooms. To float interdisciplinary research, five Centres of Excellence have been established namely Centre for Imaging Technologies, Centre for Cyber Physical Systems, Centre for Antennas and Radio Frequency Systems, Centre for Adavnced Materials Technology and Centre for Bio and Energy Materials. MSRIT has a strong Placement and Training cell with a committed team, a good Mentoring/Proctorial system, a fully equipped Sports Department, Department of Cultural Activities, large, air-conditioned library/Digital library with good collection of book volumes and subscription to International and National Journals

Awareness and Inspiration of Campus innovation, Research and Development activities to stimulate young minds is the need of the day amongst the budding engineers during the formative years of their undergraduate studies enabling them to begin their professional career well prepared with ideas and innovative skills. The National level Project Competition by RIT for engineering students is to exhibit their ideas/projects/prototypes/working models in the current cutting-edge technologies in the fields of Engineering and Technology and also to put on record an early recognition of students innovation. The project competition encampasses Stream 1 which covers Architecture, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering & Management, Civil, Chemical and Biotechnology & Stream 2 covers Computer Science, Information Science, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Cyber Security, Electronics and Communication, Electrical, Instrumentation, Medical Electronics, Biomedical, and Telecommunication Engineering. The event will motivate the students to mark the beginning step of a brilliant career. The top priority of RIT is to bring in Innovation/ Design/ Entrepreneurship boost up for the students along with their regular academics. The eminent industrial experts and academicians from premier institutes will be invited to evaluate the project during the competition. Ramaiah Institute of Technology encourages scientific investigations, research and inventions aiming at the all-round development of the society. RIT will provide a great platform to all participants to connect with the industry experts, market leaders, investors across India. This event will help to identify the next generation innovators and introduce to the marketplace for commercialization to realize ‘Make in India’. The main objectives of the Competition are:

• 100 Top Engineering College student groups will be showcasing their models and participate in the discussions.
• Enable students to exhibit their design conceptualisation and leadership skills.
• Link the innovators from academic institutions with industries/start-ups.
• Top 3 selected projects/ideas may be supported with the initial finance from Ramaiah Evolute to convert their idea into a product.
