M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) was started in 1962 by Late Dr. M S Ramaiah, our Founder Chairman who was a renowned visionary, philanthropist, and a pioneer in creating several landmark infrastructure projects in India. M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology ( MSRIT ) was established under the aegis of the Gokula Education Foundation creating a landmark in technical education in India. MSRIT offers 17 UG programs and 15 PG programs. The Entrepreneurship Development Cell ( EDC ) at Ramaiah Institute of Technology started in the year 2003 and since then the Entrepreneurship Development Cell promoting various start-up’s, industries, innovation programs at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology. Each year on an average of 4 to 5 pre-incubations are encouraged and the yearly membership of entrepreneurship Development cell is about 400. A wide variety of events including E-Week, My Stories Sessions (Talks by Alumni who have achieved excellence in innovation), Start-up Meets, Workshops, Induction Programs, IDEA RISE and many exiting events to promote innovation. Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India has established MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC) (https://www.mic.gov.in/) in the year 2018 to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) pan India. Since then MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology participated in MHRD Innovation Cell. Formally the innovation cell is established in the year 2019 at Entrepreneurship Development Cell under the leadership of Dr NVR Naidu, Principal, MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology. The institute has streamlined the entire process by conducting various events in the year 2022 under the leadership of Dr. M.N Thippeswamy, Head of the Department, Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) and CSE (Cybersecurity) and Dr. Prabha Ravi, Coordinator, Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Ramaiah Institute of Technology and members are Dr P.Y. Ravindra, Dr. Shobha K. R., Dr. Siddesh, Dr.C.G.Ragavendra, Dr. M. Shilpa, Dr. Deepak R, Dr. Manish Kumar, Dr. Sridhar, Dr R.R. Siva Kiran, Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Mr. Pradeep kumar, Smt. Meghana, Mr. Gokul Krishna, Mrs. Elavaar Kuzhali S and B. Suguna Rao.

Under the aegis of Institute’s Innovation Cell at MSRIT (C-1331) various activities in the theme of Innovation, Start-ups, IPR and Entrepreneurship are conducted. We are also proud to established Ramaiah Evolute: Section 8 Company: the state-of-the-art infrastructure to support innovation and start-ups in the campus. The institute has received the funding from various funding agencies to support the innovation and prototyping in the campus.
