  • Infrared Thermal Imaging System:

Thermography is a technique where the surface temperature of an object is mapped using thermal camera in a non-contact manner. Thermography can be used for any process or applications which involve temperature change. The thermal camera available at CIT (FLIR T650SC) has a thermal resolution of 20 mK, which makes it highly sensitive to minute change in temperature and it has a frame rate of 30 Hz making it useful for measuring dynamic temperature changes in any process. Halogen source with maximum power of 2000 W is used for carrying out active thermography techniques like Step Heating Thermography and Lock-in Thermography for material inspection.

  • Michelson Interferometer:

It is a laser-based interferometer system for measurement of minute displacements, vibrations, refractive index and stress/strain measurement. The current light sources available are laser diode sources at 532 nm and 650 nm with 5 mW power, respectively. The data acquisition system is under procurement for automated interference pattern capture and analysis.

  • Optical Coherence Tomography:

Diabetic Retinopathy and Glaucoma are of high prevalence and cause preventable blindness. These diseases are asymptomatic and manifest visual changes as the disease proliferates. Early screening can help in timely diagnosis and treatment of such diseases. The work at CIT aims at the development of an eye screening tool based on optical coherence tomography (OCT) for detection, classification and grading of these diseases using advanced artificial neural network and hardware accelerators. The OCT system is a spectral domain based system with the imaging wavelength around 840 nm (NIR region) which provides high contrast and is not absorbed by water.

  • Visible Light Cameras (DSLR and Ruggedized camera):

Standard Canon DSLR (no additional lens attachment) and a GoPro ruggedized camera for field testing in rough conditions.

  • UV-Visible Spectrophotometer:

SYSTRONICS UV-VIS SPECTROPHOTOMETER 119 is a PC based instrument. The spectrophotometer can operate in the wavelength range of 200 to 1000 nm with 1 nm bandwidth. It provides three measuring modes: Percent Transmittance (10), Absorbance (ABS) and Concentration (CONC) with factors. The available operating modes are Single- Wavelength, Multi-Wavelength, Spectrum Scan and Time Scan.

  • Graphics Processing Unit (GPU):

At CIT, 3 high end GPU systems are available which can be used in intensive computational workloads. 2 GPU’s have the following specifications: Core i7 9th Gen, 64GB RAM, 240 GB SSD, 1 TB HDD, 8GB RTX4000 and 1 GPU has the following specifications: Core i7 9th Gen, 64GB RAM, 240 GB SSD, 1 TB HDD, 16GB RTX4000.
